About Me
Kayla Tucker Adams can do it all!!! She is a motivational speaker, writer, business executive, and on-air talent. Her resume includes radio and television broadcasting, public speaking, event planning, feature writing, marketing, and corporate communications.
Ms. Adams currently serves as a writer and Managing Editor for Phalcon Star Communications, which publishes the Balch Springs Sentinel, Garland Journal News, Kuumba Heritage News, and Metroplex South Star She also hosts a weekly online news broadcast, which is viewed by more than 30,000 people around the globe.
Prior to joining the Phalcon Star Media family, Ms. Adams made history as the first Executive Director of the Wylie ISD Education Foundation. She has also held other leadership roles in public education, including Public Relations Director/Assistant Principal at Evolution Academy Charter School and Executive Director of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Educational Foundation.
Ms. Adams is a certified teacher, having taught TV Productions and Speech Communications in Dallas ISD and Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. A Presidential Scholar and honor graduate from Prairie View A&M University, Ms. Adams received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio/Television Broadcasting with a minor in Business Administration. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Human Relations and Business with an emphasis in Human Resource Management.
Ms. Adams has received numerous awards in her educational and professional careers, including Who’s Who Among American High School Teachers, Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Star Awards, and Outstanding Achievement in Communications from PVAMU. She is active in her community, awarding scholarships annually to graduating seniors in her hometown. Ms. Adams is Founder and Board President of Milestones Youth and Community Center, a non-profit organization for at-risk youth. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
